Our Service

Don’t miss your chance

Maybe you think you’ve missed your chance to undertake an overseas placement as part of your degree. Or perhaps the opportunity isn’t available on your course?

Well, we have some good news. It’s still possible to travel with us outside of term time, and independent of your university. You can still travel with us even if you’ve already graduated.

Jordan travelled with us for her nursing placement after qualifying and working as a Staff Nurse for a year:

Jordan Dewar (DEWAR15620)“Once I’d graduated and started working in a very small local hospital I started to notice some big differences compared to when I was doing placements at a university in the city.

I noticed how different things were and it made me curious to see how nurses worked in other places across the world, the positions they had, and the skills they had. And I just thought, now is the time to do it.”

Not only did Temi gain invaluable experience for her nursing elective, but her time in Ghana also helped her to win a prestigious national nursing award

The women received a health check and I ran an empowerment session. We were happy that through the screening, some of the women received a diagnosis of conditions they didn’t know they had.”

Whenever you decide to travel, and whichever Work the World programme you decide to travel to, our enhanced procedures will be in place. And, as with every other aspect of our service, these new protocols will be tailored to the specific needs of each destination.

Read on to learn more about the changes we’ve made to ensure you have the experience of a lifetime, without jeopardising your safety.

Communication is key

Our locally hired and experienced in-country teams will continue to maintain strong and constant communication with our Head Office in the UK. We’ll always have first-hand information and insight in real-time.

We have incredibly strong and long-standing relationships with our partner hospitals and local authorities in all of our programmes. We’re constantly kept in the loop regarding any changes implemented in the hospitals where your placement will take place.

Every country differs slightly in their approach, but we’ve put procedures in place to ensure there is a continual assessment of all aspects of placement delivery.

Enhanced protocols

Each of our programmes has its own specific protocols and safety measures in place.

Once you register, you can access the latest information for the country you’re travelling to via your personal online placement planner, MyTrip. Your dedicated Operations Manager will be on hand well in advance of your trip to run you through all of the measures in place too.

You’ll stay in our exclusive and privately run accommodation, accessible only to you and your housemates and our in-country team.
