Het ging heel snel allemaal. In december had ik bedacht dat ik dit wilde doen en in januari vertrok ik.

Take things as they are and don’t feel the urge to change anything or think that you know better. Go with the flow, be assertive and they will involve you more.

We stayed in a village, just over 100km west of Kathmandu, just over 2,000m altitude and about an hour from the Chinese border.

The lack of understanding but pure appreciation from the patients, even though we did very little for them, still astounds me. I even got to be the doctor for the week under supervision!

Working in these hospitals made me simultaneously angry & passionate. Angry at the lack of resources & passionate about wanting to make a difference
